Freaky Breast Cancer Ad is Freaky.

(click, via)
"Support the woman behind the cancer." That's a nice message. But, not to be a pill here (sorry), she looks like a cyborg with half her head covered like that. The visual is certainly attention-grabbing. But is it action-stimulating? Here's the website. Ad agency: M&C Saatchi, London. Many more breast cancer awareness ads here (some nsfw).

Saw it in the press.

My mum had cancer. This made me want to punch someone.

Makes the cancer more prominent than the person.

Hate it.

as someone mentioned in the lego ads, she looks like the borg lady from one of the star trek series.

it sends a powerful message of just how many drugs one can take to fight cancer.

i am not sure i like the smile, though? a slightly more serious face would seem better? like, i am serious about my fight with cancer.

:-) ya know, that was my first reaction as well - skittles. except there was no rainbow of colors.

as mentioned in that lego ad about stealing ideas. maybe this ad shoudl be redone with the model in skittles?

As for me, not skittles, but Australian aboriginal 'DOT ART.'

My focus then, is not on the woman behind the cancer, but whether the design may contain images with significant symbolic meaning, secret scene(s) from their mythology that would have been drawn in religious rituals and that Aboriginal traditionalists prohibit today's artists from depicting.
