Amazing 1960s Lego anti-war ad.

(click, via flickr)
Wow. Check that copy: "Let somebody else's child get his kicks tracking a little kid through a gun sight. Let somebody else's child build a bomb shelter in the hollow of an old tree." Plus, a shout-out to the U.N. Commies.

weird, my lego lands had a shitload of guns. Looks like the Danes rolled over on their ideals pretty quick once the 80s hit.

This Lego as has amazing copy, and given the context in which it came out, it was pretty big of the company to release such an ad.

Yeah, now Lego offers violence-infused sets including Ninjago, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Bionicle, DC Super Heroes, Dino and more.

I think Ikea and Lego should get together so you could build full size houses out of plastic bricks.......that's some big ole Scandinavian brand synergy, innit?
