Your son's gay? Get drunk.

(click ad, via) At least he's not drinking your Cachaça Magnifica and watching the porn version, Bareback Mountain. To test your son's heterosexuality, Brazilian Dad, show him this American Cachaça ad with a Brazilian woman's bare ass (nsfw) and look for the bulge in his shorts. Creative note: Diagram ads? Rarely a good idea. Don't make me work to get your oh so important message. Ad agency: Agência 3, Rio.

The third bathroom near the kitchen is for the maid. All brazilian's apartments have a maid's bathroom because every middle class brazilian has a maid. Besides beeing homophobic, brazilian society is deeply unfair =(

@ Marcus - let me explain why this apartment has three bathrooms. In Brazil it is very common to have maid services, so you see that the bedroom close to the kitchen is what we call maid chambers and has its own bathroom. The second one is at the end of the hall and is what we call the social bathroom, it is used by guests mainly and the third and last one is part of the master bedroom. Do you understand it now? Cultural differences are huge and even the add here was meant as a sort of joke and jokes cross-culturally do not 'translate' well. Best, JB.

I would've bought the cultural joke argument, except this ad is in ENGLISH! If it's intended for Brazil, this ad agency REALLY does not know what it's doing! I love caipirinhas, now I know what cachaca NOT use when I'm making them.

OK, I've got the bathroom thing now and the domestic servant arrangement. But now I need to know, WHERE ARE THE CLOSITS? Where do Brazilian people put all their stuff?

Marcus: Brazilians all wear only thongs all the time. At least, that's what American TV tells me.

Marcus, there's no need of closets in this ad. The son just left to watch Brokeback Mountain with his buddy.

well... Couldn't find any other funny joke about how brazilians are awesome, so... I would keep drinking cachaça even without the gay ad.

yes, the three bathroom thing is indeed very, very common in Brazil. Even in poorer homes, it's not uncommon to find at least 2 bathrooms (minimal 1 and 1/2).
also yes on the maid thing...very common for even working class people to have at least house cleaners.
@Darwinplanet I believe the ad is geared to the american market, hence the English.
@Marcus the rectangles with the lines across inside the rooms represent the closets. Though it is very common for brazilians to own wardrobes instead.
@Paul Adams very pertinent question indeed.
@copyranter I've also learned that if I go to Brazil, I'll be attacked by monkeys or eaten by an Anaconda. Gotta love the perpetual stereotypes!
@Kass that was funny!
