Yep, the Lion ate both White Gladiators and Black Slaves without a second thought.

Yesterday's New York Times magazine had a special advertising section titled "Leadership on Diversity" that featured ads from about 20 large companies bugling their so-called progressive hiring ways (The one from the Department of Homeland Security which included a pic of a Muslim woman was precious.). Half of the ads lamely crammed the word Diversity right in the headline, as some very junior (and very white) copywriters just outta ad school spent about five pissed off minutes working on this lowly assignment before handing the first two lines that popped into their heads into their creative directors. Whew. That's outta the way. Onto the much more important men's body spray print ad.

Man, I was thinking the same thing as I tried to find the end of that damned section. Well said.

Loved the ones that featured actual pictures of real-life representatives of ethnic diversity people groups occupying top jobs at corporate.

All these tips of the hat to racially-relevant political correctness are nearly always conducted by whiteys. There are some physical clues that reveal when people are experiencing such spasms: marginally raised eyebrows, a slight sucking in of the flesh beneath the lower lip, and the tightly-squeezed buttocks between which you wouldn't be able to pass a credit card. The squeaking sound would be a giveaway if it weren't too high pitched for the human ear.
It's the pose of someone being sanctimonious and patronising.
Ref: anything to do with Africa and guilt.

if you think about it...'leadership on diversity' doesn't really mean anything.

I think we all need titles. I want to be ‘captain of irrelevancy.’ It's working out pretty well so far.

Fuck diversity!

If I want to hire a bunch of 4'-11" Chinamen because it makes me feel big and tough, so be it!

Dont like it? Start your own company and hire whoever the fuck you want.

I don't think you're talking about it in particular, but I must say I actually rather like MGM one. Yeah, it's kinda stupid ("Lions are from Africa! We're known for having a lion in our logo! Say...."), but it's really rather aesthetically pleasing.

not surprisingly, the special section featured no messages from new york advertising agencies.

I was hoping that it'd be one of those photo collages where you alter the color overlay and contrast of pictures to make another picture out of it, like the George Bush and Mickey Mouse here: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~shanneke/images/Collages.jpg THAT would have been pretty cool.
